In practice, once a civic association has been established and registered, it is common to find that its organisational structure, the conditions for admitting new members or other provisions of its Articles of Association need to be amended.
Section 6(2) of the Act on Association of Citizens (Act No. 83/1990 Coll. on the Association of Citizens, as amended) sets out the mandatory elements that the Articles of Association of a civic association must contain, namely:
- the name of the association,
- its registered office,
- the purpose of its activities,
- the bodies of the association, how they are appointed, and which bodies and officers are authorised to act on its behalf,
- provisions on organisational units, if any are set up and if they are to act in their own name,
- the principles of financial management.
The information set out in the Articles of Association must also reflect the actual state of the civic association. It is therefore in the interest of both the association’s management and its members that the rights and obligations of everyone involved are clearly defined in the founding document.
Our lawyers, who have extensive experience in this field, will amend your founding documents and then notify the changes to the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic for 300 EUR. This amount includes all administrative fees.
For the same price, we can also draft a cooperation agreement, which civic associations conclude in order to pursue a common goal. Where a civic association works with other associations, the terms of that cooperation should also be set out in a contract.
